Welcome to Mrs. Baily's 6th grade Language Arts class. I hope you all had a wonderful summer full of rest and relaxation. I spent the summer creating memories with my three year old daughter, Lyla. While my husband was at work, Lyla and I were on the move. Whether we were traveling to the beach, to visit her aunt in Austin, Texas, or to the local pool, we were always in search of a way to cool off from the blistering heat. I look forward to a year that is busy, productive and exciting. Before all of this can happen I want to make sure that you feel comfortable and ready to learn in your new environment. Therefore, the first several weeks of school will be spent introducing you to CMS rules and procedures, as well as, my own classroom rules and procedures.
Language Arts Goals
The primary goals of sixth grade Language Arts at
CMS are for students to acquire the skills that enable them to learn from their
reading and apply what they have learned in writing, listening and speaking.
Maryland State Indicators will direct student learning and are embedded in the
curriculum. For a list of indicators for sixth grade Language Arts, please
refer to the Maryland Department of Education website at
www.marylandpublicschools.org. Just
as I expect students to come to class prepared and ready to learn, students
should know that I have the same expectations of myself. |
