Welcome to Centreville Middle School! I would like to take this opportunity to open the lines of communication for this school year. I am a firm believer that the success of a child depends on support. Your child and I will benefit greatly from constant home-school communication. Daily correspondence via the student planner has proved to be an essential tool in ensuring open communication. Please check your child's planner each night for assignments, comments, or letters. If you have any concerns or comments please feel free to contact me at any time. An email is probably the most effective means of getting through to me. I check my emails daily and will respond in a timely manner. I invite your active participation in your child's eighth grade year at CMS. I look forward to a productive and challenging school year!

Students will be able to retake/redo assignments that receive a score of 69% or lower, with the highest substitute grade being a 70%.

Formative Assessements= 40% - classwork, quizzes, exit passes

Summative Assessments= 50% - chapter tests, unit tests, projects

Homework= 10% - full credit is given for turning it in on time and the effort put towards the assignments, not accuracy
