| Queen Anne’s County Public Schools (QACPS) has
integrated our technology standards with the voluntary state
curriculum for grades 1 through 5. These plans are designed to
accompany QACPS’ specific grade level’s curriculum in the areas of
reading, social studies, and mathematics.
We strongly recommend that you review the plans at least a week in advance of your instruction to ensure that all links are active. These activities are designed to enrich the objectives of our county’s curriculum; the time in the computer lab is just one step in a series of activities that are described in these plans. Feel free to modify the plans to fit the needs of your class and your students’ abilities. The order you wish to teach the plans is at your own discretion, however there is a suggested order, Book_4/SuggestOrderofLessons.htm which follows the 4th grade curriculum. In addition to the lesson plans, you will find a Microsoft Office Scope and Sequence. This gives you a basic outline of the operations students should be able to complete by the end of each grade. The Tech Standards is a list of the Maryland Technology Literacy Standard for Students and the lesson plans that aligns with the standard. You will also find a list of the lesson plans and the VSC objectives with which they align. We have also included a list of websites which we think may be useful to you, as teachers, for additional resources. You may also want to share these sites with parents. |
| All teacher plans are saved on the QACPS
website. The Address for the index of the lesson plans is
www.qacps.k12.md.us/comtek/k-5_lessons/
|
| All materials that the students need access to for these lessons are also found on our website. The addresses and links are listed in each plan. |
| Other suggestions:
• Always check the links in advance! A Website may be down or a link may have changed. • Familiarize yourself with the lesson before entering the lab. Check to see if the worksheets need to be printed ahead of time, or may be used directly on line and saved to the student's number. |
| It is our hope that these plans are helpful to you, and serve as a way to more easily integrate technology into your daily instruction. We strongly encourage you to share your thoughts by completing the Reflection handout at the completion of the lesson and forwarding it to Dave Brown at the BOE or email him your comments/suggestions at brownd@qacps.k12.md.us . This will help the team improve the lessons in years to come. |
