Thank you to
the
wonderful PTA, parents, and students at GES who greeted the teachers
and staff the week of May 6th through 10th for Educator
Appreciation Week with
the theme of "Hollywood VIP". Our PTA is the
best in the county!
Our school fish tank got
into the spirit!
The front entry-way was
ready for the paparazzi.
Teachers walked the "red
carpet", gave autographs, and were photographed by paparazzi.
Take 1 - The PTA planned a
wonderful breakfast.
Mrs. Reese-Poust enjoyed
some of the breakfast buffet.
The Candy Buffet covered all of the
major food groups: Chocolate, Sugar, Chocolate, Popcorn,
Chocolate, Snowcones, and Chocolate!
A scrumptious dessert table was set out
for teachers and staff on the day of the Gremmy Awards. What a
way to celebrate!
The chocolate fountain was a hit!
Delicious!
The Gremmy Awards were introduced to the student audience by
Mrs. Galbriath.
Fifth graders announced the awards to the teachers and staff.
Mrs. O'Brien (in an evening gown - full awards ceremony attire
was in place) presented the award statues and certificates to
the recipients. Do I spy James Dean, Clark Gable, and Frank
Sinatra hanging around Grasonville Elementary School's Gremmy
Awards? That must have been some awards show!
Educator Appreciation Week concludes with "That's a Wrap
Luncheon". What a week!
A
California-style lunch was served on Friday. It was delicious!
Throughout the week, students wrote
and delivered "fan mail" for teachers, tutors, secretaries,
custodians, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, and any one who
works in the school. No one was left out.
Each day of the week a little treat greeted
the faculty and staff. A creative sentiment was attached to let
the Educators at GES feel appreciated.
