Intro
to Theatre This
course introduces the student to basic knowledge of the theatre
through developing an understanding of the elements of theatre
including acting, stage setting, lighting, costuming, and
make-up. These elements will be introduced through a study
of the history and development of the theatre over the
ages. |
Play Production
This course introduces
the student to the basic elements of technical theatre through
practice and application. The students will begin to
develop skills though analysis, interpretation and technique. |

Actors Studio
*Prerequisite:
Completion of Intro to Theatre with grade average "C"
or higher. This
course introduces the student to the basic elements and styles
of acting though individual performance and scene work. Students
will learn to develop character through analysis, interpretation
and techniques. |
Play Directing *Prerequisite:
Completion of Intro to Theatre and either Actor's Studio or Play
Production with grade average "C" or higher. In
this course students will combine all elements of the
theatre: history, acting, and production techniques to
create a production. The emphasis will be on elements and
styles of play directing, stage managing, producing and
designing. |
